Using Skyris 132M as guide cam

Hi
I posted this on Astronomy Forum but wondered if folk here might be more likely to have a comment or two.

Does anyone have any experience of using the Skyris 132M as a guide cam?

I'm just setting up an 80mm guide scope to work with my EdgeHD8/NEQ6 setup and using PHD2 for guiding. Having a Skyris 132M to hand, I thought I'd give it a try as the guide camera.

The Skyris offers a variety of settings in terms of format, fps and resolution so if anyone has any experience/suggestions as to which settings might work best with the 80mm guide scope and PHD2 Guiding, it would be great to hear from you.

Could not reach 60 fps after setting exposure time

Hi there, we are testing DMK 27AUR0135 at 1280x960 (both Y16 and Y800) through USB3.0 under Windows 8.
1. IC Capture shows it works at 30 fps even we adjust exposure time to 1/60 seconds.
2. Our own OpenCV based software can also only reach 30 fps after settings (1) CV_CAP_PROP_FRAME_WIDTH to 1280, (2) CV_CAP_PROP_FRAME_HEIGHT to 960, (3) CV_CAP_PROP_AUTO_EXPOSURE to false, (4) CV_CAP_PROP_EXPOSURE to -9 (1/2^9 seconds) .
3. The same laptop can reach 45 fps with other sensors and expensive image processing at the same resolution, so the bandwidth should be enough.
One weird thing is: we use one thread to capture video, the other thread to display video; when we click on the display window and release the mouse, we sometimes can see fps changes to around 60, even 70, then back to 30.
Could you suggest what we should try to reach 60 fps?

DMK 33UJ003 Camera LabView Vision Development Module Exposure

Hello,

I am trying to develop a code for DMK 33UJ003 camera in labview using IMAQdx. the camera is connected and it gives me an output also. My question is,

1. Did anybody previously tried to implement algorithm for auto exposure?
2. Which one is more suitable to do programming in labview? IMAQdx or IC Imagine?
3. If its IC Imagine then can any body please share the basic code which showing me live image?
4. Can anybody please explain me hwo to calculate gain factor in Imagining Source cameras?

Any help would be really appreciate.

Jitter on external trigger for DMK33UX232

Hello, I have a set up with the camera pointed at a scanning laser beam.
By use of a photo diode I create a trigger for the camera.
This way, I should be able to observe the laser spot always at the same location (angle) from scan to scan
The trigger signal is a nice differential square wave between about 0.1 and 3.8V. The jitter on this signal is about 100 ns p-p
However, there seems to be a large jitter on the exposure, as observed by the camera live image. By measuring the difference of the angle of the laser spot I calculate this to be about 10 to 20 microsecond

I am also observing the trigger and the strobe out on the oscilloscope, this gives the same jitter of about 10-20 microsecond.
If I decrease the frame rate (by increasing delay or mask time) I see a structure to the jitter. It is ever increasing and then gets reset, increases again, reset, etc.

What could be wrong in this setup?
I am out of ideas what to check next.

Skyris 132m Imaging Issue

Hello Everyone! New to the forum and looking forward to getting some advice on an issue I am having. I have a nexstar 6SE I have been viewing from for years now and decided to get into astrophotography. So I got a Skyris 132m camera to start off with. The issue I am having is that everything in it is blurry! I cannot seem to get a clear picture to save my life. The moon is just a large white blob on the screen. Do I need a focal reducer? Other adjustments I am missing? I am pretty new when it comes to astrophotography so I apologize for that ahead of time.

My Set up:
.Nexstar 6SE
.Skyris 132m
.Firecapture 2.6

Thing I have tried:
.Adjusting the focus
.Adjusting exposure/gain
.Adjusting FPS

Thank you ahead of time for any info on the matter.

Delayed capturing after hardware trigger

Hello

We use lots of imaging source cameras (DMK23G274 for example), and we have a problem in almost all of them. Sometimes when I send a hardware trigger, the camera doesn't start capturing right away. According to the datasheet, after the trigger it takes 4.8 microseconds (at most) to start the exposure but the image is taken more than 200 milliseconds after the trigger (I found that by looking at the scene in the image). I set the exposure on 1 milliseconds and the image is good but it's taken many milliseconds after the trigger. What is the problem?!

I dont know how to save the picture automaticaly after i took the picture with external trigger.

Camera Error on Sony A77 when I attach a lens

Hello

I have a strange problem, with an A77. When I attach a lens on my A77 I hear the shutter after 1-2s and I got the camera error on the screen. Happens also with different lenses.

When I dont completely attach the lens, I can take some pictures without a problems. As soon as I attach the lens completely, I got the camera error :-/

I know its not the mainboard, the shutter, the mirror box (bought a new one) and the ccd sensor.

Somebody had this error before?

IC Capture 2.4 is not starting up

I installed IC Capture 2.4 on my new MSI laptop and also the camera driver for the DMK 22AUC03 camera.

When I start the IC Capture application the mouse pointer changed to the one that shows the application is loading. After about 6 seconds the mousepointer is normal again, but the application is not showing up.

It appears in the taskmanager, not on screen and not in the system tray.

What should I do to make it work.

DFK 33UX290 will not Bin

After switching from verion 2.3 ICap to 2.4 the bin function does not work. It does not show 2x or 4x any more. Is there a place where I can download version 2.3 again or get 2.4 to work?

Exception thrown during launch

Hello All,

I recently was asked to install IC Measure for one of my technicians. Install went as expected. However, the application never launches, no errors reported.

I looked into the logs as it has been suggested in the past here and I saw that there appears to be references for file/folder paths that do not exist on the machine I have this installed on.

I've attached a copy of the log for reference.

Any help would be much appreciated!

DFK33ux264 higher framerates no longer available

Hi,

I usually call this camera up at it's highest resolution and framerate (2,448?2,048 15fps) in a custom program running on Linux. I started having trouble doing so. I pulled the camera up in GUVCview and V4L2 test and It only shows a max framerate of 2 or 5 and has some trouble maintaining it. I've tried it on 3 linux computers as will as booting into a Windows 10 install and using the IC software. The camera is recognised but the only available working framerate is 2-5fps. I have the Extension units loadded up on each install. It seems like the camera might be damaged, but I'm not sure how it ooile be. Any advice on what to do here?
